Erhürman to Hristodulidis: “We Hear Our Own Words. I Hope You Do Too!”

Erhürman’s full statement read:

“Mr. Hristodulidis has moved from ‘Let’s continue where we left off in Crans-Montana’ to the ‘five-point roadmap,’ and from there to calling on Turkish Cypriots to ‘return to the Republic of Cyprus.’

‘Fantastic ideas’ seem to be flying around, well beyond the limits of reason and practicality—from NATO membership to the British bases, and even to Turkey’s recognition.

Apparently, minds are quite confused!

Listing so many inconsistent, unfounded, and unserious statements one after another can only be the result of a kind of panic that temporarily suspends judgment.

He also claims that, ‘based on the teachings of 1821, the homeland will be reunified.’ Honestly, it’s not worth taking the time to seriously consider this.

If Mr. Hristodulidis wants to learn from history, he should look not so far back—2004 and 2017 would suffice! Going too far back seems dizzying.

We, on the other hand, are here with the intelligence, will, seriousness, and consistency of our people. We hear our own words. I hope you do too!”
