According to Fileleftheros, citing UNFICYP sources, the two leaders do not want media coverage of the meeting due to the “confusion” caused by the presence of more than 50 journalists. The report also claimed that no statements would be made following the meeting.

The newspaper wrote under the headline “Meeting Away from the Press – UNFICYP Source: Leaders Want a Productive Meeting Without Cameras” that both leaders prefer a closed-door format for the talks scheduled for April 6.

It also reported that UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Cyprus Khassim Diagne, in remarks following his meeting with Erhurman, confirmed that the leaders would meet in the buffer zone on Monday, April 6, and that the media would not be admitted.

The report further included statements made by Erhurman and Diagne.

Other Greek Cypriot newspapers covered the development with the following headlines:

Politis: “New Meeting on April 6 and We Will See What Follows.”

Haravgi: “Christodoulides–Erhurman Meeting on April 6.”

Alithia: “Christodoulides–Erhurman Meeting on Holy Monday.”
