Exams Postponed Due To Strike To Be Held Tomorrow
Exams postponed due to strike action will be held tomorrow after unions decided to suspend today’s protest.
The Cyprus Turkish Teachers’ Trade Union (KTÖS) and the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Trade Union (KTOEÖS) announced that they had postponed today’s strike and protest.
The unions said the decision was taken after no vote was held in the Assembly of the Republic on the draft law concerning the cost-of-living allowance. In a joint statement, they noted that all members would be on duty at schools and that education would continue as normal.
Following this development, the Ministry of Education informed school administrations, which in turn notified parents that exams disrupted by the strike would take place on Friday, April 10.
According to the schedule, exams will be held in two sessions:
- 08:30 – 10:00
- 10:30 – 12:00
In the message sent to parents, it was stated that the postponed exams would be conducted in the same format as a regular exam day.
