In a written statement, the party said it is closely monitoring the incidents involving attacks on journalists and media organizations, stressing that press freedom is a fundamental pillar of democratic societies.

The statement underlined that targeting media institutions and journalists in the digital sphere constitutes not only an attack on individuals and organizations but also a direct threat to democracy and freedom of expression.

UBP said such actions aim to undermine the public’s right to information and erode social trust, adding that the attacks are “strongly condemned” and deemed unacceptable.

The party also expressed solidarity with media organizations and journalists, stating that it supports technical and legal measures to strengthen digital security.

“Free press cannot be silenced. When the press is silenced, society is silenced,” the statement said, adding that the party will continue to stand against all forms of attacks on the media.
