President Tufan Erhürman met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Dolmabahçe Office in Istanbul ahead of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where they discussed current and regional developments.

During the meeting, Erdoğan said military elements deployed to Cyprus by some European countries under the pretext of the war in Iran should not become permanent.

Also present at the meeting were Turkish intelligence chief İbrahim Kalın, Communications Director Burhanettin Duran and Chief Foreign Policy and Security Adviser Akif Çağatay Kılıç. Erhürman was accompanied by his Chief of Staff Mustafa Ergüven and Undersecretary Mehmet Dana.

The talks focused on recent regional developments and security dynamics.

Erhürman is expected to hold further meetings on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, which is being held under the auspices of President Erdoğan and hosted by Turkey’s Foreign Ministry from April 17 to 19.

He is due to return to the island on the evening of Sunday, April 19, following the conclusion of the forum.
