The indictment and preliminary inquiry hearing in the “fake diploma” investigation involving former minister and former MP Kemal Dürüst, who is being tried without detention, has been postponed to May 5.

Dürüst, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university at the center of the investigation, appeared before the Güzelyurt District Court on Tuesday as part of the ongoing legal process.

The case was heard before Güzelyurt District Court Judge Nuray Necdet, with Prosecutor Damla Güçlü representing the prosecution and lawyer Doğa Zeki appearing on behalf of the defendant.

Following the session, the court ordered that the indictment and first preliminary inquiry hearing be adjourned until Tuesday, May 5.
