Water Cuts Begin in İskele, Set to Last Until 5 May
The İskele Municipality has announced that water cuts scheduled between 20 April and 5 May 2026 under the Turkey–TRNC Water Supply Project have officially started as of today.
In its statement, the municipality said that existing water reservoirs are fully stocked and that approximately 100 tonnes of water available in four municipal water tankers will be deployed if necessary.
İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu said the works are important for the region and stressed that all necessary preparations have been completed to prevent public hardship during the interruption period.
Sadıkoğlu noted that the reservoirs are at full capacity and that water tankers are on standby, but warned that some disruptions in supply may still occur during the maintenance period.
He urged residents to use water only for essential needs and to act responsibly and sparingly throughout the interruption.
