UN Chief Intends To Make Move On Cyprus Problem, Sources Say
UN Secretary-General António Guterres intends to take some steps on the Cyprus problem in the coming period, the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) reported, citing sources familiar with the matter.
The move is expected to follow recent meetings between Guterres and his personal envoy on the Cyprus problem, María Ángela Holguín, sources said.
The parties involved are now awaiting word from Holguín or the UN on the direction that will be taken, with the emphasis expected to be on how things are progressing on substantive matters.
No information is yet available on the date of Holguín’s next visit to Cyprus, according to the same sources.
