Pedestrian Killed in Famagusta-Nicosia Highway Crash
A pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on the Famagusta-Nicosia Highway has died. The driver involved in the crash was arrested while the police investigation is continuing.
The fatal accident occurred at around 10.00 p.m. yesterday near the Çanakkale Pond area on the Famagusta-Nicosia Highway, where 38-year-old Atamurat Narbayev was on the roadway as a pedestrian.
According to police, a vehicle bearing registration number VU 217, driven by 47-year-old İbrahim Bülbül, was travelling toward Famagusta when it collided with Narbayev.
Narbayev sustained severe injuries in the crash and was taken to Famagusta State Hospital, where he later died despite all medical intervention.
Driver İbrahim Bülbül was arrested, while the police investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
