Traffic Checks: Legal Action Against 2,012 Drivers, 45 Vehicles Off the Road
Police traffic teams conducted nationwide inspections, checking a total of 2,012 drivers, according to the Police General Directorate.
As a result of the checks, legal action was initiated against 328 drivers for various traffic offences, 45 vehicles were removed from traffic, and 2 drivers were arrested.
According to the Police Press Office, the breakdown of offences is as follows:
- 111 speeding violations
- 12 cases of driving under the influence of alcohol
- 3 cases of driving without a licence and without insurance
- 8 cases of uninsured driving
- 11 cases of mobile phone use while driving
- 9 cases of not wearing a seatbelt
- 12 cases of driving an uninspected vehicle
- 31 cases of driving without road tax/vehicle licence
- 1 case of non-compliance with public transport operating permit rules
- 130 other traffic offences
Police stated that inspections will continue across the country.
