In a statement, the Fire Service said that burning vegetation for cleaning purposes—including stubble, grass, bushes, and branch piles—will not be allowed during this period. It stressed that even controlled burning in unsuitable areas can quickly spread and cause large-scale fires.

Citizens were urged to comply with the rules under the “Law on Combating Field Fires,” noting that stubble burning causes serious damage to both soil quality and the environment.

The statement also warned against throwing cigarette butts into waste bins or onto flammable materials before ensuring they are fully extinguished.

It further highlighted safety precautions for activities involving equipment such as angle grinders, welding machines, and oxy-fuel cutting tools, advising that surrounding dry vegetation be cleared and fire extinguishers kept nearby.

For electrical hazards, the public was advised to contact the 188 Electricity Fault Line in cases involving dangerous transformers, poles, or power lines.

Additional guidance included avoiding overloading sockets with high-powered appliances, regularly checking extension cords, and not leaving electrical devices operating unattended due to fire risk.

In kitchen safety advice, the Fire Service warned against using water to extinguish oil fires on stoves, recommending instead turning off the heat source and using a fire extinguisher or a damp cloth.

Vehicle owners were also advised to carry out regular maintenance to reduce the risk of fuel leaks and electrical faults, and to keep fire extinguishers in vehicles, workplaces, and homes.

In case of smoke or fire, citizens were instructed to call 199 Fire, 177 Forest Fire, or 155 Police Emergency lines.
