One Dead, Two Injured In Çatalköy Traffic Accident
One person has died and two others are receiving treatment following a traffic accident in Çatalköy.
According to Police Press Office, the accident occurred on 22 May 2026 at around 10:00 on Uğur Mumcu Avenue in Çatalköy.
The crash took place when a vehicle driven by 66-year-old Sandra Maria Grozia Di Libero, travelling westbound, reportedly veered to the right side of the road due to careless driving and obstructed the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The vehicle driven by 61-year-old Muhammad Azam Khan then collided with the SZ 785 plate vehicle.
Following the collision, all three individuals involved were seriously injured and taken to the Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Nicosia.
Despite medical intervention, 68-year-old Jacqueline Dorothy Khan, who was a passenger in the ZYL 965 vehicle, died in hospital.
It was reported that Sandra Maria Grozia Di Libero remains in the surgical intensive care unit, while Muhammad Azam Khan is under observation in the emergency department.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
