The High Court’s 2025 report highlighted a notable reduction in cases involving children in conflict with the law. It stated that 86 new cases were filed concerning defendants under the age of 16. Including cases carried over from previous years, 79 cases were concluded, with 60 children found guilty and convicted. Of those convicted, 53 were boys and 7 were girls.

The report noted that the 52.76 percent decrease in convictions represents one of the most significant trends in recent years regarding juveniles in conflict with the law.

In terms of offences, the highest number of cases involved property crimes such as robbery, theft and misappropriation, with 21 incidents recorded. This was followed by homicide, serious assault, battery and similar serious offences, as well as indecent behaviour, with 13 cases each. The report also noted cases involving fights, public disturbance and intentional damage among juvenile offences.

As for court rulings, the most common measures imposed on juvenile offenders were bail bonds or conditional decisions, alongside fines, supervision orders and, in a limited number of cases, custodial sentences.
