Weekly Fire Report: 19 Fires and 16 Special Service Incidents, ₺1.72 Million in Damage
According to the weekly report of the Fire Brigade Department of the Police General Directorate, a total of 19 fires and 16 special service incidents occurred across the country between 25–31 May.
The report stated that the total material damage caused by the fires amounted to ₺1,721,060.
It noted that the likely causes of the fires included heating-related incidents, electrical short circuits, sparks from power lines igniting dry grass, fires started for cleaning purposes, unattended embers, and cigarette butts.
Special service incidents included fire prevention measures, rescue operations, fire training, the rescue of cats trapped on rooftops and in vehicle engines, the extraction of people stuck in elevators, and the transportation of deceased persons to hospitals for forensic investigation purposes.
The report also emphasised that fire crews respond not only to fires but also to a range of public safety and emergency assistance incidents.
