According to Sigmalive, Holguin made the remarks after meeting Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides on Thursday morning.

Holguin said she and UN Secretary-General António Guterres are preparing for a 5+1 meeting and voiced optimism that efforts would lead to such an outcome.

She said she was pleased to be back in Cyprus and described her talks with Christodoulides as “very good.”

Holguin also noted that she was due to meet President Tufan Erhürman later in the day.

After Cyprus, she said she would travel to Athens and Ankara before returning to Colombia, and would later visit Brussels.

Asked whether the 5+1 meeting would take place and when it might be held, Holguin replied: “Yes, it will happen, but I’m not sure when. It depends on everyone’s schedule.”

The report added, citing government sources, that Holguin and Christodoulides are expected to meet again on Friday or Saturday.
