Erhürman: Our Politics Is Built On Unity, Not Division

In a post shared on social media, Erhürman said there have always been those in politics who seek to benefit from division, fragmentation and polarization. He noted that one of the most intense examples of such attempts was witnessed during the presidential election campaign.

Erhürman said that throughout that period, his approach was guided by four principles: seriousness, patience, composure and determination.

He argued that society’s energy would be better spent on issues that directly benefit the public, adding that even taking time to sit down, read a book and reflect would be more productive than engaging in divisive politics.

“The public knows very well: we neither divide nor allow division. We neither polarize nor provide material or permission for attempts to create polarization,” Erhürman said.

Emphasizing that the foundation of his political vision is not division or fragmentation but the unity and will of the people, Erhürman said they would continue moving forward with confidence alongside the public.

The full statement reads: “There may, of course, be those in politics who seek advantage through division, fragmentation and polarization. There always have been.

Because there always have been, we are highly experienced in dealing with such matters. As everyone knows, we witnessed the peak of this during the presidential election.

During that period, we firmly embraced four principles: seriousness, patience, composure and determination.

I believe this intense energy could be spent far more productively on matters that benefit our people. In fact, making a change and sitting down to calmly read a book and think would be far more useful.

Because it is a futile effort. Our people know very well: we neither divide nor allow division. We neither polarize nor provide material or permission for attempts to create polarization.

The foundation of our politics is not division or fragmentation, but the unity and will of our people.

Together with our people, we will continue on this path with confidence and determination.”
