Journalists’ Union Elects Ayşemden Akın As President
The Turkish Cypriot Journalists’ Union has completed its internal leadership distribution following its new board meeting.
The new Board held its first meeting on 11 June 2026 after the General Assembly held on 6 June 2026, during which the leadership structure was finalised.
Ayşemden Akın was elected President of the Union.
According to the announced distribution of duties, Serap Şahin was appointed Vice President, Nazar Erişkin Secretary General, Ahmet Karagözlü Financial Affairs Secretary, Nupelda Karabuğday Training Secretary, Yağmur Çal Organisational Secretary, and Sonay Orbay Foreign Relations Secretary.
Board members İltaç Aslım and İbrahim Güneşer will serve as active members. At the General Assembly, Ferda Aşıroğlu and Esengül Evcil were designated as alternate members.
