Erdoğan, Guterres Discuss Cyprus Developments and Regional Issues
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, during which they discussed recent developments in Cyprus, as well as the humanitarian situation in Gaza and Lebanon and broader regional issues.
According to a statement, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and global developments.
Erdoğan said Turkey continues to work for peace and stability in several regions, particularly Iran, Gaza and the Horn of Africa.
He stressed that the opportunity for a diplomatic solution to issues between the United States and Iran should be fully utilised and said the international community has a responsibility to prevent the process from being undermined.
Erdoğan also underlined the importance of ensuring the effective continuation of UN missions in Syria, adding that Turkey will continue to provide the necessary support.
The conversation also covered the latest developments on the island of Cyprus and the humanitarian situation in Gaza and Lebanon.
