According to the communiqué, information was presented to the Council regarding ongoing operations against terrorist organisations including PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, FETÖ, and ISIS, both inside Turkey and abroad. It was stated that efforts to ensure national unity and security are being carried out with determination and success.

The Council also reviewed efforts under the “Terror-Free Turkey” and “Terror-Free Region” objectives, reaffirming Turkey’s commitment to protecting its citizens and neighbours from the burden of terrorism.

Operations against organised crime were also discussed, with emphasis placed on safeguarding public security, particularly for children and young people, and continuing such measures decisively.

TRNC And Eastern Mediterranean

The statement underlined that Turkey, in its capacity as a guarantor power, is determined and capable under international law to take all necessary measures to ensure the security, peace, and welfare of Turkish Cypriots.

It further stated that no “fait accompli” will be allowed that would harm the rights and interests of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus or undermine the peace environment in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Regional And International Developments

The communiqué expressed satisfaction over the agreement reached between Iran and the United States, stressing the importance of maintaining the momentum of the process and preventing its derailment. Turkey reaffirmed its commitment to contributing effectively to efforts for lasting peace and stability in the region.

Regarding Syria, the Council welcomed progress toward stability and reiterated continued support for the country’s unity, territorial integrity, and development.

On Gaza, the statement condemned violations of ceasefire conditions, settlement activities in the West Bank, and attacks affecting the status of East Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as actions threatening Lebanon’s sovereignty. The international community was called upon to adopt a principled stance against Israel’s actions, which were described as undermining peace efforts.

Developments in Iraq were also addressed, with Turkey reaffirming its commitment to continued strategic cooperation with the new Iraqi government and support for Iraq’s stability.

The Russia–Ukraine war was reviewed, with a call on parties responsible for escalating the conflict to take immediate steps toward a just and lasting peace, warning against further expansion of hostilities, particularly in the Black Sea region.

The statement also highlighted developments in Africa and the South Caucasus, reaffirming Turkey’s support for sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace, and regional cooperation.
