LTB Mayor Mehmet Harmancı said the project will be implemented on a long-standing parking area next to Çetinkaya Turkish Sports Club.

He noted that the project has already received approval from the High Antiquities Board (AYK), adding that it will combine a modern, secure parking facility with new social living spaces.

According to the municipality, drainage, lighting and camera infrastructure have already been completed at the site. The next phase will include a 200-vehicle capacity parking area, walking and cycling paths, a stage and amphitheatre for events, beach tennis courts, an accessible lift and stair system, as well as landscaping and green areas.

Harmancı also said the project will be integrated with the first phase of the Kanlıdere Rehabilitation Project. In this context, a lift and steel stair system will be constructed to connect the ditch area to Zahra Street, strengthening access between the walled city and its surroundings.

He added that uninterrupted walking and cycling routes will provide easier access to the Ledra Palace crossing point, while cleaning, lighting and landscaping works on the city walls will highlight the historical texture of the area.

Harmancı said the project will make urban life easier and create a new social centre where young people and families can spend time.
