Harmancı said he aims to serve the city for another term in order to complete ongoing projects in Nicosia, which he described as a capital city serving not only its own population but the entire country.

He stressed that the mutual trust established with residents is his greatest strength, adding that they aim to continue implementing major projects over the next four years in a city they have worked to improve from past negative conditions.

Speaking on Kıbrıs Genç TV, Harmancı said efforts are underway to ease traffic congestion, particularly during working hours, and to increase parking capacity in key areas of the city.

He noted that new parking and alternative road projects are being developed in areas including Mehmet Akif Avenue (Dereboyu), Kemal Şemiler Avenue, Atatürk Avenue, and Taşkınköy. He added that a 300-vehicle multi-storey car park is planned for Atatürk Avenue, while a square and underground parking project is being prepared for Taşkınköy.

Harmancı also highlighted a planned connection road from the Atatürk Teachers’ Academy to Haspolat, describing it as critical for Nicosia. He said that if the Highways Department does not act, the municipality may take on the project itself.

He further stated that the Nicosia Turkish Municipality is no longer limited to routine services, noting that strong financial discipline has enabled a 2026 investment budget of 1 billion TL.

Harmancı reported 392 million TL in sewerage investments over the past year, including 30.9 kilometres of pipeline construction and the connection of 2,922 households to the system.

He also said the long-anticipated Nicosia Culture and Arts Building project—valued at 320 million TL—is currently in the tender stage, and that it will address a significant cultural gap in the city.

Referring to the Kanlıdere Project, he said the first phase has been completed, while the second phase tender covering the riverbed is pending. He described the project as one of the most transformative investments for the future of Nicosia.

On political issues, Harmancı said holding local and general elections on the same day would not be appropriate technically or democratically, arguing that multiple ballots could make it harder for voters to clearly express their will.

He also said the cooperation between the Communal Democracy Party (TDP) and the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) in the presidential election created a positive political atmosphere, adding that similar cooperation could be explored in local elections where possible.
