Immigration Amnesty Application Deadline Set for July 9

The amnesty, which came into effect on May 26, 2026, and remains valid for 45 days, is now approaching its final stage.

The ministry said its review found that a significant number of applicants had registered for the programme but had not completed the mandatory pre-application procedures.

It called on all eligible applicants to log into the online system, complete their pre-applications and finalize the process as soon as possible to avoid losing their eligibility.

The Immigration Amnesty allows foreign nationals who have been residing without legal permission, failed to renew their work or student permits on time, or incurred penalties for visa violations to regularize their legal status, provided they meet the requirements set out in the legislation.

Applicants whose requests are approved will be granted a 60-day residence permit. Those who apply for a work permit during that period will not be required to obtain prior approval.

The programme also covers foreign nationals currently outside the TRNC who were previously barred from re-entering due to visa violations or illegal residence, provided they meet the eligibility criteria. Applications from abroad are being accepted through TRNC representative offices and embassies.

In addition, university students who have completed at least 50% of their academic credit requirements and satisfy the legal criteria may also apply through their higher education institutions.

The Interior Ministry again urged all eligible applicants not to wait until the final day to complete the process.

The deadline for Immigration Amnesty applications is July 9, 2026. Applications can be submitted online through the official government portal.
