Three Company Directors Arrested Over Sun Rise Apartment Fire
Three company directors have been arrested as part of an investigation into the fire that broke out at the Sun Rise Apartment building in İskele.
According to police, the arrests followed an investigation into Sunday's blaze, which erupted at around 5:45 p.m.
Investigators concluded that the fire was caused by negligence, leading to the arrest of the company's directors, identified only by their initials as A.N., 52, A.K., 46, and M.Z., 48.
The fire prompted the evacuation of approximately 50 residents by firefighters. Several people affected by smoke inhalation were examined by medical teams at the scene.
Firefighting efforts involved crews from the İskele, Yeşilköy and Famagusta fire stations, using two hydraulic platforms, two fire engines and two water tankers. The Civil Defence Organisation and a privately owned tanker also assisted in extinguishing the blaze.
