Addressing allied leaders at the 36th NATO Summit held at the Presidential Exhibition Hall, Erdoğan outlined Turkey's defence priorities, its role within the alliance and the country's response to growing global security challenges.

Highlighting recent advances in Turkey's defence industry, Erdoğan said Ankara has already taken the necessary steps to increase defence spending to 3.5% of GDP before 2030.

He added that spending on security and resilience has already reached 1.5% of the national budget, bringing Turkey's combined total to the alliance's 5% target.

"We aim to achieve the 5% target five years before the 2035 deadline agreed in The Hague," Erdoğan said.
