Drone Ban Around Ercan Airport Extended By Another Month

The ban on drone and other unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flights around Ercan Airport has been extended for another month until further notice, authorities announced.

The Interior Ministry said the restriction remains in place to ensure flight safety at Ercan State Airport.

According to a statement by Nicosia District Governor Fadıl Keleş, the ban covers the villages of Akıncılar, Erdemli, Kırklar, Gaziköy, Gaziler, Paşaköy, Yiğitler, Kırıkkale, Meriç, Dilekkaya and Balıkesir, as well as surrounding areas.

The statement called on all individuals and organisations to comply strictly with the restriction, warning that legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the ban under the relevant legislation.
