Health Ministry: No New HIV Cases Reported In Past Month, Online Claims Are False
The Health Ministry has dismissed social media claims alleging the existence of HIV-positive individuals in the western part of the country, saying no cases have been reported or confirmed that support the circulating allegations.
In a statement, the ministry said lists of names and related posts shared on social media are false and do not reflect the actual public health situation.
According to the ministry, neither the Health Ministry nor the relevant hospital departments have received any reports or identified any new HIV-positive cases over the past month that would substantiate the claims circulating online.
It therefore stressed that the information being shared on social media is inaccurate and urged the public not to believe or spread unverified reports.
The ministry also called on citizens to rely only on official sources for information concerning public health matters, warning that the circulation of false claims can cause unnecessary public concern and contribute to the stigmatisation of individuals.
Officials reiterated that communicable diseases are monitored through established public health procedures and that any developments requiring public notification would be announced through official channels.
