Health Ministry Denies Meningitis Case At Prison
The Health Ministry has denied reports claiming a meningitis case was detected at the prison, saying the patient has not been diagnosed with the disease and remains under observation in good condition.
In a written statement, the ministry dismissed media reports alleging a meningitis case had sparked concern at the prison.
It said medical examinations confirmed that the individual does not have meningitis, adding that the patient's overall condition is good and that they are being kept under observation.
"The reports claiming the patient was diagnosed with meningitis before test results were finalised and that a 'meningitis panic' broke out at the prison do not reflect the facts," the ministry said.
