Assault in Ayia Napa: Ahmet Tan Showing Signs of Recovery
The family of Turkish Cypriot Ahmet Tan, who was seriously injured in an assault in Ayia Napa, says his condition is improving, although he has not yet regained full consciousness.
Tan was allegedly attacked by four 18-year-olds carrying Swedish passports in Ayia Napa and has been receiving treatment at Nicosia General Hospital for the past 16 days.
His brother, Hasan Tan, said Ahmet remains unconscious but has begun showing encouraging signs of recovery.
"He has not fully regained consciousness yet, but our prayers have been answered. Doctors have not yet commented on whether the danger to his life has passed. He has opened and closed his eyes and has started moving his hands and feet. If there are no setbacks over the next few days, we will know the extent of the damage," he said.
According to Kıbrıs Genç TV, Hasan Tan added: "We believe he has overcome the critical stage. His health is improving."
