Traffic Restrictions on Kyrenia–Değirmenlik Mountain Road Extended Until Sept. 30
The Highways Department has announced that the section of the Kyrenia–Değirmenlik Mountain Road between the Acapulco Junction in Kyrenia and Alevkayası will remain closed to transit passenger cars and motorcycles until Sept. 30 due to ongoing construction works.
In a written statement, the department said the road closure, originally scheduled to remain in effect until Aug. 31, has been extended as part of works being carried out under the TRNC Highway Master Plan.
The affected section, between the Acapulco Junction and the Alevkayası turn-off, will continue to be closed to transit passenger vehicles and motorcycles to ensure public safety while construction continues.
The Highways Department urged motorists to drive carefully and at reduced speeds, refrain from using the closed section if travelling by passenger car or motorcycle, and comply with speed limits, traffic signs and the instructions of traffic personnel along the route.
