Young Woman Stabbed at Supermarket Intubated, Remains in Critical Condition

A 23-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a knife attack at a supermarket in the Taşkınköy area of Nicosia has been intubated and remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.

According to information obtained from police, the victim, identified only by the initials Z.A., continues to receive treatment in the hospital's intensive care unit after being placed on a ventilator.

The suspect, identified as 31-year-old M.B.K., remains under police guard in hospital and has not yet been brought before a court due to his medical condition.

Chief Physician: Critical Condition Continues

Dr. Hasan Birtan, Chief Physician at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, told the Turkish News Agency (TAK) that the young woman's condition remains life-threatening.

Birtan said Z.A. had sustained multiple organ injuries and suffered severe blood loss. He added that she remains in intensive care and is still in a critical condition.

He also said the suspect is being treated in a regular hospital ward and that his condition is stable.
