Christodoulides Announces Cabinet Reshuffle in Greek Cypriot Administration
Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides has announced a long-anticipated cabinet reshuffle, introducing a series of appointments while retaining several key ministers in their current posts.
Under the changes, Tina Pavlou was appointed Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, while Klea Papaellina was transferred from the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare to serve as Deputy Minister of Culture, replacing Vasiliki Kassianidou.
Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides and Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis are among the officials who retained their positions.
One of the most notable changes was made at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, where Evanthia (Evi) Tsolaki was appointed to replace Alexis Vafeadis.
At the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, former DIKO MP Christos Senekis was appointed to replace Maria Panayiotou.
Christodoulides also announced changes to two commissioner posts. Former EDEK MP Elias Myrianthous was appointed Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare, replacing Antonia Theodosiou, while Irini Pogiatzi was named Commissioner for Citizens, succeeding Panagiotis Palates.
Meanwhile, Panagiotis Palates was appointed Director of the Presidency Office, replacing Charalambos Charalambous, who resigned from the post.
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed cabinet members will take place at the Presidential Palace on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 9:30 a.m.
