Five Police Directors and 142 Personnel Reassigned in Police Reshuffle
The Police Services Commission has approved a major reshuffle within the Police General Directorate, reassigning five police directors and a total of 142 personnel serving in various ranks and units. The appointments of directors and deputy directors will take effect on August 19, while the remaining personnel transfers will become effective on August 21.
According to a statement from the Police Press Office, the reshuffle includes five police directors, five deputy police directors, 11 chief superintendents, one chief fire superintendent, six superintendents, nine deputy superintendents, three deputy fire superintendents, 13 police sergeants, one fire sergeant, 75 police officers, seven firefighters and 11 civilian staff members.
Under the new appointments, Administrative Police Director Erdal Şanlıdağ has been assigned as Director of Traffic, İskele Police Director İbrahim Ulusoy has been transferred to head the Communications and Information Technology Directorate, Güzelyurt Police Director Enver Erem has been appointed Director of İskele Police, Traffic Director Cem Kayabaşı has been reassigned as Administrative Police Director, and Criminal Investigation Director Hüseyin Kafa has been appointed Director of Güzelyurt Police.
Among the deputy director appointments, Famagusta Police Deputy Director Cemil Başkut will serve as Deputy Director of İskele Police, Nicosia Police Deputy Director Hasan Karabaşak has been transferred to the same position in Famagusta, Criminal Investigation Deputy Director Hakan Haksoy has been appointed Acting Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, and Erkut Efendi, head of the Criminal Investigation Branch at Nicosia Police, has been promoted to Deputy Director of Nicosia Police.
The transfers involving district and department directors and deputy directors will take effect on August 19, while the reassignment of all other personnel will come into force on August 21.
