Five Men Jailed for Total of 55 Years in Gang Rape Case in Kyrenia
Five men have been sentenced to a total of 55 years in prison after being convicted of raping a young woman they met at an entertainment venue in Kyrenia and recording the assault.
The case dates back to 2024, when the victim had travelled to the TRNC for a three-day holiday during the Eid break.
The convicted men — Yusuf Akan, Şehmus Kaya, Zülküf Kaya, İbrahim Arzakçı and Baver Yaşar — were found guilty of rape and violating the victim's privacy.
The court sentenced Yusuf Akan and İbrahim Arzakçı to 12 years' imprisonment each, Şehmus Kaya and Zülküf Kaya to 10 years each, and Baver Yaşar to 11 years in prison.
