ELAM Calls for Cancellation of Two Events in Northern Nicosia
Greek Cypriot far-right party ELAM has called on the Spanish government and the Greek Cypriot Foreign Ministry to intervene to cancel two events planned in northern Nicosia.
According to Politis, ELAM said it had identified two additional events planned in the north following its campaign to block the “NEXUS” music festival.
One of the events is the “Zamna” music festival, scheduled for October 10, while the other is a football training camp organised by a Barcelona academy.
ELAM described the planned sports activities by a major football academy linked to a team from an EU member state in the TRNC as “unthinkable”.
The party called on the Spanish government to intervene to prevent the football camp from taking place and urged the Greek Cypriot Foreign Ministry to launch its own efforts to cancel both events.
