Loizidis sent letters to Spanish Football Federation President Rafael Louzán, FC Barcelona and UEFA, urging the cancellation of the academy’s planned camp in the north.

According to Philenews, Loizidis was criticised for having “noticed late” that FC Barcelona Academy was planning to hold the event in the TRNC.

In his letter, Loizidis urged Barcelona to reconsider its decision to organise the training camp in the north, or alternatively move it to the Greek Cypriot-administered south, which he described as a “more appropriate and lawful” location, or not hold the camp on the island at all.

The report said the letters were sent on Wednesday morning and also distributed to UEFA and FC Barcelona.

The CFA is closely monitoring the issue and indicated that it could take further action if necessary.
