Holguin Expected to Return to Cyprus in September
Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides said UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy for Cyprus Maria Angela Holguin is expected to return to the island in early September.
According to the Cyprus Mail, Christodoulides made the remarks as he left the Presidential Palace to meet with President Tufan Erhürman.
Christodoulides said the UN’s preparations regarding the convergences reached in the negotiations were at an advanced stage and that he would raise the issue during his meeting with Erhürman.
He added that the leaders would discuss the steps needed to create the conditions called for by UN Secretary-General António Guterres during his visit to Cyprus last month.
