Akpınar: “If I Were DP Chairman, I Would Withdraw From the Government”
Democratic Party (DP) Secretary-General Serhat Akpınar said he would withdraw the party from the government if he were its chairman.
Speaking on TV 2020, Akpınar said leaving the government would be necessary to avoid assuming further political responsibility amid a process involving serious violations and to allow the judiciary to pursue accountability within the administration.
“If I had been the DP chairman, I would have withdrawn from the government. In a process involving such serious violations, I would withdraw in order not to assume further political responsibility and to allow the judiciary to proceed against the administration as well,” Akpınar said.
