Politis: Holguin to Join Erhürman-Christodoulides Meeting on September 9
UN Secretary-General’s Personal Representative for Cyprus Maria Angela Holguin is reportedly set to attend next week’s leaders’ meeting between President Tufan Erhürman and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides.
According to Politis, Holguin is expected to travel to Washington and then London in the coming days before arriving in Cyprus on Monday evening or Tuesday to attend the leaders’ meeting.
The newspaper said the meeting between Erhürman and Christodoulides, originally scheduled for today, was postponed following the maritime disaster off Kyrenia and the declaration of three days of national mourning.
Politis reported that the postponement could allow the two leaders to meet two or three times before travelling to New York at the end of September.
