61-Year-Old Woman Stabbed to Death in Aygün
A 61-year-old woman, Saliha Özkol, was stabbed to death in the courtyard of her home in Aygün early this morning.
The incident occurred at around 6:40 a.m. when M.A., 71, allegedly stabbed Özkol for a reason that has yet to be established.
Özkol sustained serious injuries and died at the scene.
M.A., who reportedly left the scene, was later found at his residence in the Çanakkale Ağıllar area of Famagusta after apparently injuring himself.
He was taken to Famagusta State Hospital in critical condition and remains under treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
