Kişi: ‘This Country Will Rise Again, This Darkness Will Disappear’
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) Secretary General Mehmet Kale Kişi said allegations raised during the ongoing “Fake Diploma” trial had once again exposed the “rotten system of governance” that has taken hold of the country.
“This country will rise again. This darkness will disappear, this nightmare will end,” Kişi said in a social media post.
Kişi said the ongoing hearings and allegations in the “Fake Diploma” case had once again laid bare the decay caused by the system of governance that had prevailed in the country for years.
He said the same mentality could be seen in many areas, from fake diplomas and bargaining over citizenship to controversial releases from the Central Prison and the reckless use of public resources.
Kişi described this mentality as one of “lawlessness, incompetence, lack of oversight and favouritism.”
“They are now hiding behind parliamentary immunity,” Kişi said, referring to the upcoming election. “It won’t be long. When the ballot comes before us, our people will deliver their punishment at the ballot box. On that day, some will no longer have the shield of parliamentary immunity.”
Kişi said they would hold those responsible to account and establish a system in which the rule of law prevails and everyone is equal before the law.
He stressed that their responsibility would not be limited to seeking accountability, saying the country also needed to be rebuilt.
Kişi said they would fix what had been broken, clean up what had become rotten and restore the functioning of state institutions. They would also restore public trust in the state, credibility in politics and merit-based governance in the public sector, he said.
Kişi said they would build a country with a productive economy where people could look to the future with confidence, concluding his message with a pledge to rebuild the country.
