Ercan Airport Passenger Traffic Nears 4 Million in First Eight Months

Ercan Airport continued to record growth in passenger and aircraft traffic during the first eight months of 2026.

According to figures released by T&T Airport Operations, a total of 3,979,248 passengers used Ercan Airport between January 1 and August 31, 2026. During the same period, 26,115 aircraft landed at or departed from the airport.

In the first eight months of 2025, Ercan Airport handled 3,656,122 passengers. This figure rose to 3,979,248 during the same period this year.

According to the data, the number of arriving passengers increased by 8.60%, while departing passenger numbers rose by 9.07%. The overall increase in arriving and departing passenger traffic was 8.84%.

Aircraft traffic also recorded a similar increase. The number of aircraft arrivals and departures rose from 23,995 in the first eight months of 2025 to 26,115 during the same period this year.

This represented an 8.85% increase in arriving aircraft, an 8.82% increase in departing aircraft and an 8.84% rise in total aircraft traffic.

August was Ercan Airport’s busiest month of 2026.

A total of 600,290 passengers used the airport for arrivals and departures in August, while 3,668 aircraft landed or took off during the month.

In August 2025, Ercan Airport handled 553,441 passengers and recorded 3,410 aircraft movements.

In addition to its passenger capacity, Ercan Airport also stands out for its technological infrastructure, modern architecture and energy-efficiency measures.
