Six Banned Sugar Gliders Found in Lapta; Two Arrested
Police have arrested L.C.C. after determining that the suspect had offered Sugar Gliders, a banned exotic species, for sale on social media in Lapta. Six Sugar Gliders were seized and handed over to officials at Taşkent Nature Park.
According to a statement by the Police Press Office, L.C.C. was found to have offered Sugar Gliders for sale in a social media post on September 14, 2026. The species is native to Australia and is prohibited from being kept.
As part of the police investigation, a search was carried out at L.C.C.’s residence, where six Sugar Gliders were found.
The animals were handed over to officials at Taşkent Nature Park for shelter, while L.C.C. and A.Y., who was found to be connected to the incident, were arrested.
The police investigation is ongoing.
