Özerdağ: Election Calendar to Begin October 7

Supreme Court President Bertan Özerdağ said the High Election Board would take additional measures to ensure that the general and local elections scheduled for December 6 can be held simultaneously, noting that the two elections had never previously been held together in the TRNC.

According to BRT, preparations are continuing for the general and local elections to be held on December 6.

Özerdağ said the High Election Board (YSK) would need to take additional measures because the two elections had never previously been held simultaneously in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

He said the YSK’s Information Technology Centre would complete its preparations for the elections next week.

Number of Ballot Boxes to Increase; Election Calendar to Begin October 7

Özerdağ said the number of ballot boxes would be increased in each electoral district to facilitate the counting and tallying process, adding that preparations for the election process were continuing.

He also announced that the election calendar would begin on October 7.
