Electric, Hybrid and Hydrogen-Powered Vehicles Exempt From EECR
Electric-only, hybrid and hydrogen-powered vehicles have been added to the list of vehicles exempt from exhaust emissions testing under an amendment to the Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Control Regulations (EECR).
The amendment was made to the second paragraph of Article 4 of the Motor Vehicle Exhaust Emissions Control (Amendment) Regulations, published in the Official Gazette.
Under the amendment, electric-only vehicles, hybrid vehicles and hydrogen-powered vehicles have been added to the list of vehicles exempt from exhaust emissions testing under the section titled “Scope and Exemptions.”
Prepared by the Council of Ministers under Article 31 of the Environmental Law, the amended regulations entered into force following their publication in the Official Gazette.
