Identity of Man Recovered From Shipwreck Confirmed as Mehmet Bayhan

Üstel said the identification process for the citizen whose body was recovered during the maritime accident off Kyrenia had been completed and that the deceased had been confirmed as Mehmet Bayhan.

In a statement, Prime Minister Üstel said:

“Following the maritime accident off Kyrenia, the identification process for the body of our citizen who was previously recovered has been completed.

As a result of the examinations, it has been confirmed that the deceased was Mehmet Bayhan.

Since the first moments of the accident, all relevant institutions have been continuing their efforts with great sensitivity and determination to locate our missing citizens, complete the identification procedures as quickly as possible, and put an end to the uncertainty experienced by the families.

May Allah have mercy on the late Mehmet Bayhan, and may his family, relatives and loved ones have patience and receive my condolences.”
