Erhürman to Travel to New York Tomorrow for Talks
President Tufan Erhürman will travel to New York tomorrow for a series of meetings on the sidelines of the opening week of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During his visit, Erhürman will meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the UN Secretary-General’s Personal Representative for Cyprus, Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar.
Erhürman is expected to meet with Holguin on Thursday and Guterres on Saturday. He will also hold a number of bilateral meetings as part of his programme.
Erhürman is expected to return to Cyprus on Sunday at 7:55 p.m. after completing his meetings in New York.
NO TRILATERAL OR 5+1 MEETING EXPECTED
Erhürman said last week that no trilateral meeting or 5+1-format meeting was planned in New York, adding that Guterres would hold separate meetings with the two sides.
Erhürman also expressed hope that his meetings in New York would help clarify how the process would move forward.
