Christodoulides, Holguin Hold “Very Good and Constructive” Meeting
Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, who is in New York for the UN General Assembly, met yesterday with Maria Angela Holguin, UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ Personal Representative for Cyprus.
According to Riknews and other online newspapers, both Holguin and Christodoulides described their hour-long meeting as “very good and quite constructive.”
Holguin said she remained optimistic about efforts to achieve progress on the Cyprus problem, adding that “the UN’s efforts will continue.”
The report also said Christodoulides briefed Holguin on the outcome of his meetings with President Tufan Erhürman in Cyprus and shared “some of his main new ideas” that he had presented to Erhürman during their latest meeting.
Christodoulides is also scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General António Guterres tomorrow evening.
