Arıklı Slams UBP’s “Imaginary” Airline Project

Arıklı said the process was prolonged under the pretext of amendments to the “Partnership Regulation,” eventually causing investors to withdraw.

In a statement on social media, Arıklı argued that as the election approaches, some political parties are presenting imaginary projects to the public, criticizing UBP’s announcement regarding its new airline project.

“NEW KTHY IN THE AIR IN 2028”

Arıklı said the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) had made several announcements at a press conference before UBP also unveiled a project for a new airline.

He noted that UBP’s project had been covered in newspapers under headlines such as “New KTHY in the Air in 2028. Building Also Ready,” with the project reportedly set to be implemented through a public-private partnership.

Arıklı then recalled previous efforts to establish a new airline.

“THE COMPANY HAD EVEN BEEN ESTABLISHED”

Arıklı claimed that approximately three years ago, work had been carried out to establish a new airline through a public-private partnership model and that the company had even been incorporated.

Arıklı said:

“Wouldn’t people ask them? Nearly three years ago, when a new airline was about to be established through a public-private partnership, and the company had even been incorporated, who were the people who prolonged the process under the pretext of ‘amending the Partnership Regulation,’ ultimately frustrating the investors and causing them to withdraw?”

“WAS IT TO AVOID SAYING UBP SANK KTHY?”

Arıklı also questioned UBP over why the process had been prolonged.

“Could the reason be to prevent people from saying, ‘UBP sank KTHY and YDP rebuilt it’?” Arıklı asked in his post.

Arıklı’s remarks came in response to UBP’s announcement of its plan to launch a new airline in 2028.
