State Laboratory to Reopen After 10 Years
Health Minister Hakan Dinçyürek has announced that the new State Laboratory will officially open tomorrow, nearly a decade after the previous facility was destroyed by fire and taken out of service.
“We identified the need after taking office, planned it, built it, and now we are opening it,” Dinçyürek said.
Dinçyürek said the State Laboratory had burned down approximately 10 years ago and was subsequently taken out of operation.
“It was operating at low capacity and had also lost its operational capability,” he said.
The minister said authorities had been forced to provide services at limited capacity for years, adding that the new facility was built to international standards and would contribute to public health and the country’s economy, as well as supporting producers, trade, imports and exports.
“We have built the new State Laboratory. We are ready for the opening. We invite everyone to our opening ceremony on Wednesday, September 30, at 5 p.m.,” Dinçyürek said.
