Üstel said the government was working to serve the country, implement new projects, resolve problems and improve people’s lives, while claiming that CTP continued to provoke and benefit from protests through what he described as “cheap provocation politics” rather than working and producing solutions.

Üstel said that following every service delivered by the government, familiar figures and some pro-CTP unionists appeared on the scene and launched what he described as shows aimed at creating tension in public institutions and the streets and disrupting public order.

He said the situation had gone as far as threats against the prime minister, including statements such as “We will hang you, we will kill you.” Üstel stressed that criticism, demonstrations and protests were democratic rights, but said no right could legitimize violence or threatening language.

“Death Threats Cannot Be Normalized”

Üstel said, “Death threats against a prime minister or any other person cannot be normalized.”

Arguing that the timing and political targets of the protests were clear, Üstel said they had little to do with defending workers’ rights and were instead “nothing more than staged performances designed to benefit those who are incapable of producing politics.”

He said they were aware of promises made by CTP to certain trade unions following the election, as well as negotiations conducted for personal political objectives rather than workers’ rights.

“We see with our own eyes those who advertise themselves through trade union actions and those who secure candidacies,” Üstel said.

“This Country Does Not Have a Single Day to Lose”

Üstel said that, as prime minister, he was responsible for directing the country’s energy not toward conflict and tension, but toward investment, production, employment and public welfare.

“This country does not have a single day to lose. Nor do we have a minute to spare for this cheap politics,” he said.

Üstel stressed that the UBP government would break this vicious cycle in the new period and stand firmly against an approach that, he said, undermines the credibility of politics.

“We give our word,” he said.

“Our Politics Is About Service, Not Conflict”

Üstel said the government’s approach to politics was based on service rather than confrontation.

“Our politics is not about conflict; it is about service. We are committed not to saving the day, but to building the country’s future. We will continue working toward this.

“Let no one think they can intimidate us with death threats, threats to hang us or cheap political protests.”
